What happens to your data here
Most privacy policies are written by lawyers, for lawyers. This one is written by the person who built every part of this site, so it can be specific: here is everything builtwiththeo.com collects, where it goes, and what will never be done with it.
The short version: this site collects almost nothing, and I'd like to keep it that way.
What this site collects
tl;dr · two form fields · emails you send · standard server logs
- The mini-map form. If you use the “get my free map” form, the site collects exactly what you type: the task you describe and the email address you want the map sent to. Nothing else: no hidden fields, no fingerprinting.
- Email you send me. If you write to hello@builtwiththeo.com, I have whatever you chose to put in that email.
- Server logs. Like nearly every website, the server that hosts this site keeps short-lived technical logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type) to keep things running and catch abuse. I don't use them to identify or profile visitors.
What this site does NOT do
tl;dr · no trackers · no ad pixels · no selling · no ai training
- No invasive analytics, ad pixels, or social-media beacons. The only measurement is Plausible ↗, a cookieless, privacy-first counter that tallies page views and anonymous interaction events (a button was clicked, a form was submitted — never what you typed) without collecting personal data or following you across sites. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel.
- No tracking cookies. The site doesn't set cookies to follow you around.
- Your information is never sold, rented, or traded. There is no list, and you are not the product.
- What you type into the form is never used to train AI models, mine or anyone else's. It goes to my inbox, where I read it myself.
How your information is used
tl;dr · to reply to you · nothing else
One purpose: responding to you. If you submit the form, I read what you wrote, draw your mini-map, and email it back. If we end up working together, our correspondence becomes ordinary business records. That's the whole lifecycle.
You will not be added to a newsletter, drip sequence, or “nurture campaign” for filling out a form. If I ever start a mailing list, joining it will be a separate, explicit choice.
Where it lives and who touches it
tl;dr · my inbox · resend (email delivery) · the site's host
Form submissions are delivered to my business inbox by Resend ↗, an email delivery service, which processes the message in transit. The site itself runs on a commercial hosting provider, which handles the server logs described above. No other third parties receive your information.
How long I keep it
tl;dr · as long as normal correspondence · deleted on request
Emails and form submissions are kept the way any small business keeps its correspondence, so I have context if you write back a year later. If you'd like yours gone, ask (see below) and I'll delete it.
Your choices
tl;dr · ask to see it · ask to delete it · one email is all it takes
Email hello@builtwiththeo.com and I will tell you what I have about you, correct it, or delete it. There's no form to fill in or account to log into; this is a one-person shop, and the person answering is the same one who wrote this policy.
A few edges
tl;dr · not for kids · external links have their own rules
- This site is for business owners and isn't directed at children under 13; I don't knowingly collect their information.
- Links to other sites (YouTube channels, client sites) lead to places with their own privacy practices; this policy stops at the edge of this site.
If this policy changes
tl;dr · the date at the top moves · material changes get called out
If the site starts collecting something new, this page will say so before it happens, and the “last updated” date at the top will change. No silent edits.
